Có những mẹo lái xe ô tô rất hữu ích, nhất là cho những người mới biết hoặc đang tập lái xe. Ở đó, kinh nghiệm lái xe được diễn đạt qua những câu văn vần đầy dí dỏm và dễ nhớ.
Dưới đây là những câu cửa miệng của cánh tài xế lâu năm. Hoặc khi các bác học lái các thầy cũng chia sẻ những câu này cho các học trò của mình. Nhưng khi lấy được tấm bằng thì các tài mới lại quên.
Đây là những kinh nghiệm lái xe vô cùng hữu ích.
Khi tránh xe ngược chiều, nhiều khi ta đánh lái vào (hơi gấp) thì đuôi lại văng ra, nhất là xe có đuôi dài.
2. Đầu xuôi đuôi lọt
Nếu có một khe hẹp, một khi ta đã lách được qua 2 gương là yên tâm phía sau sẽ lọt (tất nhiên đừng đánh lái). Các xe tải thì ko áp dụng được bài này vì thùng hàng nhiều khi to hẳn ra.
3. Tiến bám lưng, lùi bám bụng
Đây là bài để các cụ tiến tiến lùi lùi trong các ngõ hẹp, qua cổng, góc tường v.v.. Lưng ở đây phải hiểu là phía thân xe ngược với hướng cua, còn bụng thì ngược lại.
4. Lên số nào, xuống số đó
Đây là bài đi đèo dốc. Cũng không nhất thiết phải xuống đúng số khi lên, nhưng câu này nhắc nhở lái xe không khi nào được đi số cao hoặc về mo khi thả dốc dài.
5. Chó tránh đầu, trâu tránh đít
Cách tránh động vật ở trên đường. Khi bị giật mình, chó thường chạy quay đầu lại, còn trâu bò thì cứ lừ lừ tiến.
6. Côn ra, ga vào, phanh tay thả
Thao tác khi bắt đầu khởi hành
7. Lên số lấy đà, về số vù ga
Là thao tác đổi số
8. Bỏ ga, qua thắng
Thao tác thường trực khi lái xe. Chân phải khi không dùng để nhấn ga phải ngay lập tức chuyển sang để hờ lên bàn đạp phanh, sẵn sàng xử lý tính huống tiếp theo
9. Đi chậm côn trước phanh sau, đi nhanh phanh trước côn sau an toàn
Thao tác lái xe khi đi chậm và đi nhanh.
10. Nhất chạng vạng, nhì rạng đông
Những thời điểm nguy hiểm khi lái xe. Ban ngày, mắt đang quen ánh sáng mạnh, lúc chạng vạng, mắt chưa quen, ánh đèn pha chẳng thấm vào đâu, do vậy đi tầm này phải rất cẩn thận. Còn tảng sáng ngoài chuyện có người đi chợ sớm thì quan trọng là: nhiều lái xe chạy đêm, tầm đó hay bị ngủ gật.
11. Lơ tốt còn hơn lái tồi
Ám chỉ khi chạy đường xa, vai trò của anh phụ lái này đôi khi rất quan trọng. Chẳng hạn, khi lái xe chính có biểu hiện buồn ngủ, với kinh nghiệm của 1 người lơ tốt, anh ta lập tức nhắc nhở ngay. Nhiều khi có anh ta mà hành khách thoát hiểm trong gang tấc.
12. Mưa tránh trắng, nắng tránh đen
Tức là trời mưa thì nên tránh chỗ nào trắng trắng vì đó dễ là vũng nước. Khi trời khô ráo tránh khu vực thẫm màu vì có thể là bãi phân trâu bò.
13. Ba (giây) xanh thì bỏ, ba (giây) đỏ thì đi
Khi đến ngã tư, gặp đèn xanh còn một vài giây thì tốt nhất dừng lại không nên phóng nhanh cho kịp qua vì dễ bị mấy tay lái cắt ngang khi đèn chưa xanh đã khởi hành. Ngược lại, thấy đèn đỏ, chờ hết giây hẵng đi.
14. Tài già căn non, tài non căn già:
Các bác tài lái lâu năm thường có kỹ năng lái hơn người mới cầm vô-lăng.
15. Làm tớ thằng khôn hơn làm thầy thằng dại
Áp dụng vế 1 vào lái ôtô thì tuyệt. Mỗi khi các bác đi sau một xe khác, nếu xe đó là một tài già, đi đứng cẩn thận chuẩn chỉnh thì chỉ cần bám đuôi là ngon. Còn đi sau ông nào hoặc lái mới, thi thoảng phanh đột ngột thì giật mình lắm, hoặc lái mới lờ đờ cũng rất mệt. Còn gặp mấy ông đi ẩu cũng chẳng theo được.
16. Chồng tổ lái, vợ gà mái nuôi con
Nói lên hậu quả đau lòng của việc đua xe, chạy ẩu của các bác tài đạp quá chân.
17. Ra đường sợ nhất công nông
Nên tránh xa các xe tính năng an toàn thấp.
18. Nhanh một giây, chậm cả đời
Khi tham gia giao thông, mỗi người nên nhường nhịn nhau một chút, đi chậm từ tốn hơn… sẽ hạn chế tối đa tai nạn cho mình và cho mọi người.
19. Côn ra, ga vào
Ý muốn nhắc nhở cánh tài xế mới chú ý chân ga & chân côn.
20. Xuống phà xe trước người sau, lên phà người trước xe sau an toàn
Nhắc nhở các bác tài về ý thức khi lên xuống phà, có nhiều bác coi thường việc này.
21. Tránh voi chả sấu mặt nào
Khi gặp mấy con khủng long (xe công, xe tải, xe buýt, taxi…) thì tránh xa tí.
22. Ga liền côn nháy mấp máy chân phanh
Cách sử dụng và phối hợp ga, côn, phanh khi lái xe trên đường
23. Đã uống thì ko lái, đã lái thì ko uống
Nếu không muốn ăn gà khoả thân.
24. Đổ kéo, méo gò
Khi đậu thì kéo thắng tay, chỉnh thẳng vô lăng khi đậu, tránh đậu xe bánh trước méo.
25. Đổ xăng tránh nắng
Khi đi đổ xăng không nên đổ vào buổi trưa, vì trời nóng xăng co lại, lượng xăng vào bình sẽ nhiều hơn, đồng nghĩa tiền cũng nhiều hơn. Nên đổ xăng vào buổi sáng, chiều hoặc tối.
26. 2 nháy 2 bên, xoa không, chống có
Kinh nghiệm hỏi đường. 2 nháy đèn pha để hỏi, Xoa xoa tay là không có, ngón cái hướng lên trên hoặc ra phía sau là có xxx
27. Em ơi nước cạn bình khô rượu
Nhớ châm nước bình, nếu hết nước bình là xong phim.
28. Chuồng rộng thì tiến cho nhanh, chuồng hẹp khó quá mời anh đi lùi
Khi đậu xe thì cứ lấy câu 28 trên mà dùng.
29. Quan sát xa, xử lý sớm
Lái xe chú ý khoảng cách an toàn. tầm nhìn an toàn phải từ 50m trở xuống.
30. Cố tránh + cố vượt ẩu = Quá cố
Khi lái xe không nên thể hiện, tai nạn luôn đến bất ngờ, không ai thấy trước được.
31. Yêu xe như con, Quý xăng như máu
Khi làm nghề tài xế thì phải luôn luôn chăm sóc xe thật kỹ như xe mình, vì đó là chén cơm.
32. Muốn đi thì chuyển sang Đê (Drive). Đến khi dừng tạm thì rê sang Nờ (Neutral). Lùi lại phi thẳng lên Rờ (Reverse). Chán không đi nữa thì Pờ – Pắc kinh (Parking)

33. Tài già, Dép rọ, Kính cong, Đến quãng đường vòng còn phải ngớt ga
Vào cua chớ nên nhấn ga dù là tài già.
34. Xăng – Dầu – Nước – Điện
Khi đi xa nên nhớ kiểm tra 4 điều này.
35. Sai một li đi một dặm/ Một chút bất cẩn, ân hận cả đời
Có những quyết định tức thời nhưng chưa kịp cân nhắc sẽ rất dễ xãy ra tai nạn.
36. Ăn đi trước lội nước theo sau
Đi trước đến quán ăn sẽ có chổ mát (đi theo đoàn). Còn lúc qua khu ngập nước thì nên chạy phía sau, do xe phía trước rẻ nước nên đi sau sẽ an toàn.
37. Đánh răng, rửa mặt, thêm nước, kiểm dầu, vòng quanh đá vỏ
Qui trình lái xe đường dài các tài mới nên học hỏi tài già.
38. Lên ngựa chẳng vội chạy ngay, để cho máy nổ nhiều giây hãy vù
Khi nổ máy, nên để máy nóng ở nhiệt độ 40 thì mới bắt đầu lăn bánh.
39. Đi trời mưa to, bật đèn hazard (cảnh báo nguy hiểm)
Khi đi trên cao tốc, trên đường. Nếu gặp mưa to, tầm nhìn hạn hẹp các bác tài nên bật đèn để cảnh báo cho xe phía sau nhìn thấy, vừa an toàn cho mình và cho mọi người.
40. Lên dốc thì phải lấy đà; Về số thì phải vù ga giữa chừng
Cách phối hợp để xe chuyển động được khỏe và không bị giật.
